Agentic Programming & Agent Skills (Claude Code + Codex) Training with Michigan Technology Services

Michigan Technology Services offers instructor-led AI Agent Development training and consulting, as well as other AI, Leadership, Agile and Scrum courses, through partnerships with a number of AI trainers and enterprise coaches.

While we are located in the Farmington Hills/Novi area, 20 miles outside of Detroit, our training can take place at your location anywhere around the world. Our AI Agentic Programming/Development & Agent Skills workshops and coaching sessions are now offered both in-person and online/virtually, reducing your need to travel.  Yes, we do still provide onsite training.

While many educators fly into metro Detroit to deliver AI and Agile classes at a hotel, and then leave, our core group of trainers and coaches live here, grew up here and/or support the local business community. We continue to sponsor regional conferences and meetups. We have successfully run AI, Leadership Agility and Development,  courses for multiple teams from globally recognized organizations.

What is the AI Agentic Programming & Agentic Skills (Claude Code + Codex) workshop?

A two-day, developer-focused workshop that extends the core AI Agent Development workshop into agentic programming: using AI coding agents (Claude Code and OpenAI Codex) as daily development tools, and mastering Agent Skills, the open standard, maintained by Anthropic and adopted by Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and OpenAI Codex, for packaging portable, reusable agent capabilities. The teaching philosophy is “don’t imitate, understand”: participants learn why context windows create problems for agents, why progressive disclosure solves them, and how agents consume skills under the hood, so they can adapt, debug, and build skills the documentation doesn’t cover.

Audience and Prerequisites:

  • Audience: Developers using (or adopting) Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Codex who want consistent, repeatable results; team leads who want to encode standards and workflows that agents follow automatically.
  • Prerequisites:Basic familiarity with AI coding agents. No specific programming language required — skills are language-agnostic. Claude Code and Codex CLI installed; access to a sandbox repository. You should be familiar with the material covered in our three day AI Agent Development workshop.
