Foundations of Facilitation

Foundations of Facilitation with Tricia Broderick and Michigan Technology Services

A FACILITATION INTRODUCTION WORKSHOP CREATED BY THE CO-AUTHOR OF LEAD WITHOUT BLAME: BUILDING RESILIENT LEARNING TEAMS.

Michigan Technology Services offers instructor-led Foundations of Facilitation training, as well as other Agile and Scrum courses, through a partnership with Tricia Broderick.

In a pre-Covid world our training would take place at our location in the Farmington Hills/Novi area, 20 miles outside of Detroit, or at your location anywhere around the world. Our Agile workshops and Agile coaching sessions are now offered online/virtually, reducing your need to travel.

While many educators fly into metro Detroit to deliver Scrum and Agile classes at a hotel, and then leave, our core group of trainers and coaches live here, grew up here and/or support the local Agile community. We continue to sponsor regional Agile conferences and meetups. We have successfully run Agile Leadership, ScrumMaster and Product Owner courses for multiple teams from globally recognized organizations.

What is the Foundation of Facilitation workshop?

Many leaders have been told “the team is accountable”, “empower your team” and “collaboration is essential”. However, knowing these end goals doesn’t mean leaders have the skills to achieve these outcomes. So how do you get started? Well, there is no single checklist to the perfect skill-learning sequence for all leaders. But, one skill every leader needs is facilitation.

In this workshop, participants build context for why leadership needs to shift away from being the expert to fostering collaborative teams. Together, participants unpack various team characteristics for evolving into a high performing resilient learning team. Gain practice in a set of foundational facilitation techniques. And expect to analyze the value of professional coaching skills for leaders. All while, discovering new possibilities through learning and laughter.

To advance your leadership and teams, it’s time to explore the benefits of facilitation.
